Pics from a few weeks ago

Finally got some things sorted out (computer issues lately). Here are some pics of a recent visit with the MI kin.
Flowers need a lot of water!

I love my parents back yard!! It's been a year since we've been here and we missed it!!

Vermont!

Here are some pics of our recent trip to VT - we had a wonderful week there!

Helen during our first hour in the cabin - we were all a little giddy!
Down by the lake - yeah!
Novak cabin, our fave. Nothing like sleeping in a cabin on a hill amongst the trees. :-)
We enjoyed some free outdoor music on Sunday before t-storms rolled through later.
One of our favorite places - where we sleep. I'm pretty sure we spent about half of our time there, at least H and I did, since we went to bed with her and I took many a nap with her!
The porch is where it's at. I want to retire, buy this cabin, and then never leave this porch (so long as it stays August all year round).
Helen running down to the lake.
A brief spin in the kayak.

Too cute! :-)
Ditto
We spent a lovely morning exploring the Wallingford library- what a great place! Helen really enjoyed the furry friends there.

Floating.... one of our favorite pass times....

Helen, our budding photographer

See? There's D's foot - he really was there.
Goof.

Last day - play on the beach no matter how cold it is!!

Ode to Otter Creek beer
Snuggly
Going home :-(
Morning after we got home - Helen adopts a "playa playa playa pose". Have we ventured too close to NYC?

4th of July G&G Visit!

G&G came down for an impromptu visit and we had a great time. We even got to celebrate Grandma's upcoming b-day (Happy B-day to Cathy today!)
We took G&G to Grant's Farm over the weekend, where the carousel is staple (no luck with getting to the dragon first - bummer!).
One night over the weekend, we ventured out to the Webster Groves carnival in 100 degree weather with our neighbors. Despite the heat, it was a lot of fun!
We are a very stripey family, apparently (on the Ferris wheel)
D and H on the Ferris wheel (other side)

Grandma and Helen on the thing-a-ma-whizzer. I was feeling a little green from the tilt-a-whirl at that point, which we all went on (so fun!).
Helen's very first carnival ride with Grandma (very herky, jerky coaster - oops! Luckily, H wasn't ready to quit despite darkening looks that rounded each new bend - by the end, she was not smiling!)
We went to Union Station and caught a (fake) pony ride and saw the 4th of July parade (how did we not get pics of that?!)
G&G throwing their pennies at Union Station pond (they are so cute!)
